Purpose

The purpose for which this Chapter is formed is to support an educational and trade association as follows:

• To promote by educational means better relations between private owners and public bodies, their architects or engineers on one hand and contractors on the other;
• To maintain by educational means high professional standards in the conduct of work;
• To combat practices which are unfair to the public and the industry;
• To encourage efficiency among contractors;
• To support contractors and contractor associations in efforts to rectify conditions of any unsatisfactory character;
• To encourage those methods of contracting for work which relieve the contractor of improper risks;
• To provide and maintain suitable rooms for the conduct of its business;
• To encourage sound business methods tending to raise the standards of construction professionals generally in the business world; and
• To maintain an affiliation with the Associated General Contractors of America, Inc.
